LUCKNOW, INDIA (Smart Cities News): On Monday, Lucknow Smart City has invited proposals to install 8.5 MW (Megawatt) of grid-connected rooftop solar systems by the renewable energy service company model on government buildings under the “Smart City Mission”. The extent of work covers the design, supply, installation, testing etc., said officials.
The last submission date is 23rd August 2021, and proposals will be opened on the same day. The pre-bid meeting will take place on 13th August 2021.
As per the report, the solar modules should have a warranty of a minimum of 25 years from the date of supply; output electricity should not be less than 90 percent at the end of 15 years and 80 percent at the end of 25 years.
The vendors should have executed a cumulative capacity of 1 MW (Megawatt) of solar projects for any state agency, central agency, public sector undertaking, or railways during the last seven years to participate in the bidding process. In addition, the project should have been functional for at least one year. The bidder’s average annual turnover in the last three years should be at least Rs. 350 million. In the case of a consortium, the combined turnover of all the group members will be considered for evaluation.
The vendors eligible for the supply and installation of the rooftop system open a service centre branch in each district. These centres have to provide services within the given period in the contract, free of cost for the first five years, which will count as free services for the rooftop system.
According to India Solar Tender Track (ISTT) report, several smart cities in Uttar Pradesh have floated tenders over the past year. For example, in March 2021, Moradabad Smart City proposed setting up twenty-five (25) solar-based water ATMs to provide safe drinking water in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. The work included designing, constructing, installing, and operating the solar-based water, ATMs at public places and stainless-steel water storage tanks.
Jhansi Smart City had also invited tenders for hybrid rooftop solar power projects with zero export devices on government properties and offices in Jhansi under the capital & expenditure model.
