CHANDIGARH, INDIA (Smart Cities News): Chandigarh Punjab has ranked number among 29 states in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Index-2020-21 for sustainable cities and communities, with a score of sixty-eight (68).
On 5th August 2021, there were 22 indicators, including the percentage of individual household toilets constructed against target (SBM-G), the pupil-teacher ratio at the secondary level (Classes 9-10), and the rate of households electrified the performance of the index score was 100. She said this after reviewing the department-wise progress of the state as per SDGs India Index-2020-21 at a meeting, said chief secretary Vini Mahajan during the session.
During the meeting, some administrative secretaries apprised the chief secretary that data values taken for the indicators were not based on the latest scenario. They added that as per the present scenario, there would have been a significant improvement over the data values used for SDG India index 2020-21. Therefore, administrative secretaries were directed to take up issues related to data correction.
Administrative secretaries of agriculture, rural development officers, head of panchayats, forests and wildlife officers, home affairs, higher education, industries and commerce, science, technology and environment, ministers, local government etc., attend this meeting.
